Danger Looms Again in Shimla's Krishnanagar, Heavy Rain Fuels Anxiety Among Elderly
Shimla, September 4: Continuous heavy rainfall has once again brought the Krishnanagar area of Shimla city into the danger zone. The threat of landslides in this area persists, creating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among local residents, especially the elderly.
Expressing their pain, local elderly residents stated that every monsoon season brings fear and uncertainty for them. They reported that this area has been in the grip of landslides for several years, but no concrete and permanent solution has been devised by the administration.
An elderly resident said, "Our sleep is ruined. With every drop of rain, our heartbeat increases. The ground could slip at any time, everything we have could be destroyed." He further added that due to their age and frail health, it is not possible to repeatedly move to safer locations.
The residents have demanded immediate intervention from the administration and the government. They say that measures like the construction of strong retaining walls and proper drainage systems should be implemented immediately. The return of danger has once again sparked anger among the people, who are raising questions against governmental negligence.
