Shimla: Big Diwali Gift from Chief Minister Before the Festival

Daily wages increased, honorarium of Lumberdars, SMC teachers, and watchmen also raised
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has announced a major gift for employees before Diwali. The Chief Minister increased the honorarium of 21,115 Mid-Day Meal workers by ₹500 to ₹5000. The honorarium of 877 SMC C&V teachers was raised from ₹15,509 to ₹16,009, 833 SMC lecturers and DPEs received a ₹500 hike to ₹19,378, 491 SMC TGTs got a ₹500 increase to ₹19,378, 62 SMC JBTs’ pay rose by ₹500 to ₹13,762, and 31 water carriers’ pay was increased by ₹500 to ₹5500. Furthermore, daily wagers and part-time workers’ wages were raised by ₹25 to ₹425 per day, sewing instructors’ honorarium by ₹500, 1399 panchayat watchmen by ₹500 to ₹8500, 970 revenue watchmen by ₹500 to ₹6300, and 3304 lumberdars by ₹300 to ₹4500. The state government also increased the honorarium for Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Body representatives. The Zila Parishad chairperson’s honorarium was raised by ₹1000 to ₹25,000, vice-chairperson’s by ₹1000 to ₹19,000, members’ by ₹500 to ₹8300, Panchayat Samiti chairperson’s by ₹600 to ₹12,000, vice-chairperson’s by ₹600 to ₹9000, members’ by ₹300 to ₹7500, Gram Panchayat Pradhan’s by ₹300 to ₹7500, Up-Pradhan’s by ₹300 to ₹5100, and members’ by ₹600 to ₹2100. In Urban Local Bodies, the Mayor’s honorarium was raised by ₹1000 to ₹25,000, Deputy Mayor’s by ₹1000 to ₹19,000, and councilors’ by ₹1000 to ₹9400. The Municipal Council Chairperson’s pay was increased by ₹600 to ₹10,800, Vice-Chairperson’s by ₹500 to ₹8900, Councilors’ by ₹300 to ₹4500, Municipal Panchayat Pradhan’s by ₹600 to ₹9000, Deputy Pradhan’s by ₹400 to ₹7000, and members’ by ₹300 to ₹4500. The state government also raised the Special Police Officers’ honorarium by ₹300, outsourced employees’ salary to ₹12,750, and IT teachers’ honorarium by ₹500.
