Legal Victory Secures ₹401 Crore from Wildflower Hall Property

The Himachal Pradesh government has achieved another significant legal success. Mashobra Resort Ltd. will receive ₹401 crore from the Wildflower Hall property. The state has become the sole owner of this company.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court, in its October 14, 2025 judgment, ordered that Rajya Samyukta Udyam Company receive ₹320 crore along with 50% shareholding and interest against capital. Additionally, the company will receive ₹25 crore and ₹13 crore from East India Hotels.

East India Hotels (EIH) will be transferred to Rajya Samyukta Udyam Company in exchange for ₹136 crore, providing an additional benefit of ₹68 crore. It is notable that MRL was originally owned by East India Hotels and Rajya Samyukta Udyam Company.

This legal battle spanned nearly 30 years. Thanks to the special support and efforts of CM Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the High Court, on February 20, 2024, transferred ownership of the entire Wildflower Hall property to the state. The government obtained property rights on March 31, 2025.

Earlier, the Supreme Court made a historic decision to increase the royalty from 12% to 18% for the Karchham Vangtu hydroelectric project. As a result, the state is receiving over ₹250 crore annually. CM Sukhu expressed happiness over this achievement and reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting Himachal’s interests.

Robotic Surgery to Begin at IGMC Shimla

Following Chamiyana and Tanda Medical Colleges, robotic surgery will now start at IGMC Shimla as well. The Chief Minister, in a meeting with health department officials, announced the allocation of 40 beds at IGMC Shimla for robotic surgery for female patients of Kamla Nehru Hospital.
He stated the government is equipping hospitals with modern machinery to provide specialized healthcare. Instructions were given to start gynecological robotic surgery at IGMC.

It was decided that robotic and elective surgeries for female patients will be conducted at both Kamla Nehru Hospital and IGMC. A team of doctors will be appointed at IGMC to ensure comfortable treatment for women at both places. This service will begin on a three-month trial basis.
