Dhanteras and Lord Dhanvantari Jayanti are being celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm at the sacred Shaktipeeth Jwalamukhi Temple in Kangra district. Since early morning, a large crowd of devotees has been gathering at the temple premises. The entire atmosphere is filled with spirituality and devotion.
Temple priest and trust member Avinendra Sharma informed that this year, the Amavasya (new moon) will begin on the night of October 20 and continue till the morning of October 21. Therefore, it is auspicious to perform Diwali worship on the night of October 20.
He advised that on the night of Diwali, devotees should light lamps and worship Goddess Lakshmi while chanting the mantra 'Shri Mahalakshmyai Namah'. This ritual is believed to bring prosperity, peace, and happiness into the home.
On the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti, special rituals are also being performed. Sharma said that on this day, a Kalash (sacred pot) should be established at home, filled with Triphala, Amla, Harad, and Baheda. The water from this Kalash should be used the next day for bathing and sprinkling in the house. This tradition symbolizes health and purification.
On Diwali day, hundreds of lamps will be lit in the temple and a grand worship ceremony will be held. The entire temple will be illuminated beautifully, offering a divine and spiritual experience to all devotees.
